            Blood pressure is the force the blood exerts against the walls of the arteries.

Hypertension is dangerous because it causes the heart to work harder to pump blood through the body; this can lead to hardening of the arteries (Atherosclerosis). If untreated, Hypertension can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke or kidney disease.
