Weight Loss
There are many factors that contribute to weight gain and obesity. Obesity has become an epidemic in our country due to inactive lifestyles and poor nutrition. This, in turn, leads to most of the health problems we face today. Many people try to lose weight; some succeed through fad diets, but eventually find the weight returns. In the process of fad dieting they are damaging their metabolism for life, unless this gets corrected.
There are many reasons people are overweight, sometimes it is due to overeating, poor food choices or just lacking the knowledge of proper nutrition. Quite often, people are overweight due to underlying health issues that can be traced to an imbalance in the body. Weakened areas of the body that can contribute to an imbalanced condition include; overtaxed liver, sluggish kidneys (and lymphatic system), poor elimination, weak digestion. An imbalance in the endocrine system can lead to a low level functioning thyroid, a weakened pancreas (which causes blood sugar imbalances), overstressed adrenal glands, and hormone imbalances (especially in women). All of these conditions will contribute to a weak metabolism.

Here are some suggestions how you might be able to lose weight, while at the same time rebuilding your health:
Diet:
Eat a well-balanced diet that includes all of the essential food groups. Our bodies were designed to function on healthy fats, quality proteins, and unrefined carbohydrates. Each meal should consist of food containing an adequate amount of protein such as: fish, organic poultry, meat, eggs, and/or beans and legumes (if you are vegetarian). Most people don’t consume adequate protein.
Include healthy fats in your diet such as; essential fatty acids (Omega 3 and Omega 6). These fats are not synthesized by the body, and must be obtained from the foods we eat. Most people consume adequate Omega 6, but are lacking in Omega 3 fatty acids. Foods rich in Omega 3 include: cold water fish (such as wild salmon), dark green leafy vegetables, and oils such as flaxseed oil and fish oils.
Include some unrefined carbohydrates in your diet: whole grains, fresh fruit and vegetables are excellent sources. If you have difficulty losing weight, or have a weakened digestive system, limiting your carbohydrate intake to vegetables and fruit would be best, as some people have a difficult time digesting any form of grains.
There are some theories that claim it is best not to combine food groups; however this generally leads to your body craving certain foods (usually those you shouldn’t eat- which contributes to weight gain). Remember everything in balance and moderation!
Exercise:
A regular exercise program involving a cardiovascular workout is critical in order to boost your metabolism. Exercise will release toxins while you sweat, burn fat, and provide you with more energy. Other health benefits include: stabilizing blood sugar levels, improving cardiovascular function, benefiting the lymphatic system, and even boosting your immune system.

Stress Management:
Alleviating stress is vital to weight-loss. Many people reward themselves with food, especially if they are upset or anxious. This usually involves unhealthy food choices such as: sweets, junk food or alcohol. Stress also causes the adrenal glands to secrete the hormone Cortisol which leads to fat storage, especially around the abdominal area. Finding an effective way to deal with stress is most beneficial to weight loss.

Cleansing and Re-building the body:
Weight gain is often due to a system imbalance, and it is beneficial to cleanse the body internally to regain the proper balance. Cleansing and rebuilding the organs, tissues and glands will help to re-establish your health. There are some gentle (but quite effective) herbal formulas available on this website that will do just that.
